I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
Whoa, I watched the first half as we peppered their goal with tons of missed shots and then a 2nd point blank missed shot in the 2nd half and Baylor barely had any good looks BUT connected on them and won 3 nil. Really demoralizing, as balls on frame will rebound and 2nd chances abound, but when you whiff on even hitting the goal from 10 yards and in, well you don’t deserve to win or be ranked.
Impossible to know how accurate, but I saw a documentary on the making of the show. There was extensive original research coupled with years of myriad news outlets’ reporting.
One of the advantages of the show being done 25-30 years after the incident is that there was time to gather lots of details and sort through the conflicting accounts (both the deliberate and the mistaken).
The big thing is that they volunteered they would be taking no revenue, none , zero , zelch in the first five years . Offered a absolutely no risk clause as to where if at te end of the Contract and they showed us where they wee bringing NOTHING to the league at all, they would or we could boot them out no questions asked.
The big thing is they are on probation AGAIN. Do we really want something like that ? putting more back eye perspective from general public ? I don’t know each school getting around that extra three million-- money speaks pretty loud, Big corporate partnerships – – Fed - Ex— -Home Depot. I Don’t know , does pro’s out weigh the cons ?
This baseball team is having a great season. Playing in the semifinals tonight of the league tourney, 6:30 possible regional host as well. Saw one prognosticator having them as a 2 seed in their regional which is different than 2 seed in basketball. It’s kind of like a sweet 16 seed.
I don’t work for Weber, I promise, but I’m gonna sing their praises. You get what you pay for and after throwing away some piece of crap that lasted a year in Louisiana humidity I bought a 300 dollar Weber Spirit. That was in 08. I’ve replaced the drip/flavor bars once. That’s it, still works beautifully. Even heat, amazing grill. I just unscrew the gas when it’s not working right and screw it back on and it works well.

Honestly I believe this to be generally true. For all the bad things you can point to, there are positive things about living now compared to a hundred+ years ago.
At the risk of bringing up politics when I saw the 90 day pause I placed a large tea order from Fortnum and Mason. I will say if you are a tea drinker (I always have been, I know some prefer coffee) Fortnum tea is truly bucket list stuff and it really isn’t badly priced compared to other premium tea options.
